Happy Thanksgiving! Jolly Black Friday? Wait, no. Merry Christmas! Have you noticed that? That they pretty much go right from Halloween to Christmas? Not me, though. Just kidding. That was a joke because the day after Thanksgiving, on Black Friday, we went to the Christmas themed amusement park, Busch Gardens. In Virginia. Did I mention that I was in Virginia for Thanksgiving? Maybe I'll mention it later because I'm going to tell you about Busch Gardens. Well, I didn't take any pictures because I left my phone at the house so you'll just have to either imagine it or go to Google Images. I'm sure we're in the background of some random stranger's picture, though, so it's all good.
First, we got our picture taken with the Gingerbread Man which kind of counters everything I just said. Then, we went for a train ride whilst listening to Christmas music. That put me right in the spirit. Then, we strolled along until I begged to try an impossible basketball shooting game where I, of course, lost. There was only one roller-coaster running during the Christmas village extravaganza which I was peer-pressured into going on. Verbolten. It was really fun, actually. We also went on a gondola ride when it was dark and the twinkly Christmas lights were super bright. We waited in line for almost an hour. The gondola was really fun, but only about three minutes long and not really worth it. After that we tried the best hot chocolate ever. It was like peppermint fudge or something. And the worlds best hotdog. The pretzel dog. Now I have Christmas songs stuck in my head.
I am about to go backwards and tell you about Thanksgiving. Don't confuse yourself. This year for Thanksgiving we went to Virginia to see family. We drove for 10 hours split into two days. With a puppy. I was thankful for family and friends and food and such, but mostly I was thankful that he didn't pee in the car. We finally got there. We stuffed ourselves on Thanksgiving, saw The Perks of Being a Wallflower in the theater, and went Black Friday shopping at the mall in the Navy Base.
On our last day my mom and my sister got the flu so we had an extended day. For them it sucked, but not for me. I got to go to the zoo, learned how to play cribbage and watched some movies. But other than the flu and the LONG drive it was really fun. And now I must collapse in a heap because I just got home from driving for 10 hours home from Virginia.

Steep Mountain Climbs
In the celebration of my mother's aging, we went hiking. It was really fun and we marched along a stream very peacefully until we stopped and my mom realized that this wasn't the steep mountain climb she had planned on, so we turned around. Apparently, we had taken the wrong trail. Eventually, we found the right trail. We all looked up and groaned. It was practically a mountain climb. It honestly wasn't that bad, but complaining is fun for everyone. (Cough cough...just me.) It was about 2 1/2 hours long and I would point out that I had sore arms and legs from swim practice, but I won't. That would be complaining. And even though we were only in Connecticut, we stayed in a hotel to get the full experience. By full experience I mean shopping and eating and you know...shopping.
My dad would like to use the blogging device I am typing on right now, so I have to stop writing and allow him to do so. Also, my dog is attacking my sock. I'll try to write more often.

The Year They Cancelled Halloween...Pshhh
Hey guess what? Nope....That's not it either.....Keep trying.....Wrong again....Ok I'll just tell you. I got a dog! :) A little puppy named Nemo. (I came up with the name.) He's about 13 weeks old and adorable. So we went out to look for Halloween costumes when we saw that Petsmart had this "Adopt a Dog" thing going on. Dogs are adorable so obviously we went in. They were so cute! This company called the Clover Run Rescue (or something like that) were in charge of it. They rescue dogs from the south and bring them up here. There was too much adorable to handle so we got one. At first we thought he was going to be shy. He just sat around and didn't do much. He was still adorable, though. Then one day out of nowhere, he had all this energy. He was running around and chewing stuff up. He is the most cutest thing ever. Except when he tries to steal my Halloween candy.
He seemed fine during his first hurricane, though. What? A hurricane?...Wait. You knew about the hurricane? Was it the news people? They give everything away! Spoilers.... Well anyways we did have a hurricane. Mostly wind, less actual hurricane. But it was still slightly scary. A tree fell onto my back porch. Our trampoline was tossed around like a Frisbee. And they even cancelled school for three days. It was kind of cool because they cancelled school on Halloween. Or it would have been cool except that they cancelled Halloween, too. They can't cancel Halloween! So they postponed it. Apparently it's this Saturday. It's the most stupidest thing I have ever heard. The year they cancelled Halloween. Psshhhh. They don't have that kind of authority! So I went anyway. Just around my neighborhood with Annaliese and Sam. At first it was really awkward because there was about nobody out there, but after a while other kids came out. It turned out to be ok because I'm going again on Saturday. Thank you, City of Westerly, for giving us two opportunities to stuff ourselves with sweets.

Ps. I'm not using either of the costume ideas I said I would because it turns out that Ronald McDonald is easier said than done. Instead I'm being the Wicked Witch of the West. (Elphaba from Wicked.) I know it's not that original, but you know what? I don't care. Except that on Wednesday I didn't feel like putting it on so I'm saving it for Saturday and I went as a text message. Emoticon shirt and text bubble tights. Cool, huh? Credit to Ciara and Sam for coming up with the idea.
